What Do You Know About the Holocaust? (14:58) - This video doesn't actually have a catchy name, that was just a question I decided to use. I also wasn't sure just where to put it so decided here on the videos page and it is an important topic so I put it at the top of the page. The YouTube description in part reads "94 Maidens author, Rhonda Fink-Whitman interviews Pennsylvania public school graduates currently enrolled at four different PA universities to see what they know about the Holocaust, WWII, and Genocide in general. A real eye opener!" How much do the youth (or adults too) know today about the Holocaust in your province or state? Is it taught in your schools? It should be! It's an important part of history.

That way you can then go back to your list in the original tab or window which is undisturbed and continue. Why not also make this functional structure a work of art that evokes the city's rich history?" As they say in the video, people either love it or hate it.

Jerusalem Light Rail (6:56) - Ride the train from west to east. This is an excellent unobstructed view right out the front window. The route begins at the Har Herzl station on Mount Herzl near Yad Vashem just as the train has left the station. See the first blue marker on the route map below left. At 4:20 on the counter you are turning off Jaffa Road and are passing the northwest corner of the old city as the route turns north (right side of left map below.) The video does not go completely to the northern end of the line. Our cameraman apparently got off the train at the Shimon HaTzadik station which is the last blue marker shown on the upper right of the map below left. (So technically, he's correct saying west to east ... he just didn't go north!)
(Update: On my visit to Jerusalem in September 2014, I had the opportunity to ride this train. My ride was from Davidka Square ... ninth marker from the left below ... all the way to the end at Mount Herzl and back again.)

This was his view of Jews until that fateful day when he had a “chance” encounter with a religious Jew… Once he discovered that his maternal being grandmother Jewish meant that we was actually Jewish, his life was transformed forever. Shwarma - Israeli Way! (1:50) - This will make you hungry! A shwarma being made at Moshiko's on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem. Falafels and Shwarmas are the ultimate street food in Israel (and much of the Middle East,) and Moshiko's (or so I've heard) is one of the best and I can attest to that - Moshiko's was a regular almost daily stop on my last vacation trip in Jerusalem. If you are not familiar with a shwarma you start with a pita bread and add a variety of salad ingredients and sauce topped off with pieces of meat. A falafel is similar but instead of meat, you use fried chick pea balls so it is a vegetarian option.

Voca People - Aliens from outer space in Israel - musical ones at that. You'll have to admit this is different. Two video clips - here (2:26) and here (1:21). See more information about them on Wikipedia and their web site here.
Walking the Jesus Trail (15:00) - A mini documentary as two hikers walked this 65-km Jesus Trail from Nazareth to Capernaum in Galilee attempting to recreate first century life.
We've Gotta Live Together (2:15) - This is a very nice short music video with a message. The location is Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem, a major pedestrian shopping district. My wife was there during her 2013 trip. Note the background stores - Moshiko is one of the best places in Jerusalem to get a falafel and right across is the Katzefet ice cream shop (black oval sign in Hebrew). This street is popular with street musicians, etc.
Welcome to the Temple Institute (2:42) - "Today The Treasures of the Temple Exhibit offers a window into the Holy Temple
and its rituals. Situated on Misgav Ladach Street, [at the top of the stairs down to the Western Wall plaza] in Jerusalem's Old City the exhibit showcases more than sixty sacred vessels and priestly garments that were painstakingly recreated by the Temple Institute for use in the Holy Temple in accordance with intricate biblical law. Each vessel is the culmination of years of research and intensive work that brought together rabbis, artisans, craftsmen, engineers and scientists. The recently completed High Priest's robes which includes the gem stone ordained breastplate is now on show." [Edit: I visited the Temple Institute Museum on our Jerusalem vacation in 2014. Admission is by 1-hour guided tour at cost of 35 shekels ... about $13.00 Canadian ... and I highly recommend it if you ever have the opportunity. Rod.]

What Is A Jew? (5:27) - "Aish HaTorah's Rabbi Moshe Zeldman debunks common misconceptions of what it means to be a Jew, and lays out very simply the Torah's perspective of what being a Jew means."
What is a Jewish Wedding? (35:01) - A podcast with pictures from "Stuff Jews Should Know".
What is the Mezuzah? (4:34) - "Why do we affix a Mezuzah in the entrance of our homes? Is is a good luck charm? Who originated this Jewish tradition?"
You Are Part of the Story (4:55) - "The five minute video that will transform the way you look at the Jewish people forever!" "How can you tell a story of a people that has spanned the generations. Thousands of years. Millions of people. Holding on to a dream, a way of life. Just a tiny bit of the incredible, enduring, mosaic of the Jewish people. A tradition of timelessness passed on from one generation to the next. From parents and grandparents down to children and grandchildren. Because that eternity called the Jewish People needs to be passed on and preserved. In the prayers of the Sabbath it states 'Who is like Your People Israel – One nation in the land.' The uniqueness of each one makes up a beautiful picture in which each one is part of the story." (Quote from the Israel Video Network.)
